She was diagnosed with bipolar disFree Download when I was 10 years old, and her illness turned our lives upside down.<br><br> My mother was a brilliant woman. She was a successful lawyer, and she had a great sense of humor. But her illness made her unpredictable and difficult to live with. She would go from being the life of the party to being withdrawn and depressed in a matter of hours.<br><br> My father tried to be supportive, but he didn't know how to deal with my mother's illness. He would often get angry and frustrated with her, which only made things worse.<br><br> I was caught in the middle of all of this. I loved my mother, but I was also afraid of her. I didn't know how to help her, and I didn't know how to protect myself from her.<br><br> My mother's illness had a profound impact on my life. I grew up feeling like I was always walking on eggshells. I was afraid to say or do anything that would set her off. I became a people-pleaser, always trying to make everyone else happy so that I wouldn't be the cause of any conflict.<br><br> When I was 18 years old, my mother died by suicide. I was devastated. I felt like I had lost my best friend, and I didn't know how I was going to go on without her.<br><br> In the years since my mother's death, I have come to terms with her illness. I understand that she was not responsible for her actions, and I forgive her for the pain she caused me.<br><br> I have also learned that I am not alone. Millions of people around the world are affected by mental illness. I want to share my story to help others who are struggling with this issue. I want them to know that they are not alone, and that there is hope.<br><br> **My Mother Was Nuts** is a memoir about the challenges and rewards of loving someone with a mental illness. It is a story of love, loss, grief, and redemption.
